it was a fucking house phone that i was so stoked to have because it was mine that i kept in my own room and i cannot believe technology has progressed at the speed of FUCKING light to the point where this is a hilarious artifact to have had in like 6th grade and now theres kindergarteners with iphones

How did you know if you dialed the right number

each button made a different tone so the numbers you dialed a lot became a subconscious melody in your head and if you hit the wrong button by accident it would sound like a wrong note in a song you know by heart

i can’t beleive that is a legitimate question in my lifetime

Other acceptable answer: the wrong person answers on the other end.

Another acceptable answer: the robot lady comes on the phone and tells you number doesn’t exist.

I’m not even fucking 30 yet why

ive been thinking and honest to god: i think i would actually join a girl gang if the offer came. like a legitimate, hierarchical, “let’s carry knives under our skirts and beat up men” gang. fuck college

bringing back the sukeban girl gangs from the 70’s that wore long skirts against teen sexualization and fucked things up for the patriarchy

image

and this was no “5 girls in a small town” who made the news—this was yakuza level shit. 20,000 girls getting into gang fights and shoplifting and getting pissed off that only men were allowed to be rough and violent and angry

and y’all wanna know the funniest part? immediately after this trend blew up, the Men decided to sexualize the hell out of these girls. this included movie adaptations and pornos where the skirts were made shorter and the tits were bigger cause apparently they had found their new fetish

but here’s how they actually looked, and it’s actually pretty badass:

so anyways. who up for a girl gang

if we being honest, rihanna doesn’t seem like the best person to text in a crisis

I feel like she’s the type to text back 5 hours later like “you good? 👀”

does anyone else remember waking up jaded af in a haze at 2am and turning on the tv only to find that dave the barbarian was running back to back on disney channel

I drew Dave. Does anybody remember him??

image

not even 20 notes in and the character designer for dave the barbarian reblogged.

Amazing.

Dave the barbarian was an iconic show with black leads Disney channel won

Were they black? I just thought they were all kinda tan.

Their mother, Glima, was a black woman

I had a dream that Tumblr released a system on the site that’d give you points whenever someone reblogged or followed you and you could spend the points in a virtual shop that was owned by an ugly digital rat mascot. And you could buy different weapons and attack other blogs and destroy parts of their page.

The future we could’ve had :/

the way teenagers are presented in media is so fucking funny like u think this is how sixteen year olds speak. do u think they really communicate in dramatic monologues and deep metaphors and references to great literature. half my high school didn’t know what a metaphor was.
